5/9/10 Jaguars vs Kickers

The first half was an even match with the Jaguars keeping most of the possession, but the Kickers were able to get some opportunities at goal. The 1st half ended with an even score of 0-0. However, the Jaguars came out with a little more fire than the first half. Keeping most of the possession and creating multiple scoring opportunities, but nothing that found the back of the net. About half way thru the 2nd half, one of the Kickers turn from a little over half and shot the ball high in the air just over Meg's head. Despite Meg playing flawless up to that point, there was nothing she could do to make the save. After moving to 4 players up top with about 8 mins remaining, the team applied full force but was unlucky and lost the match 0-1. I felt the defense of Lupe, Kerry, Emma and Veda played extremely well despite given up a goal.

4/24 Jaguars vs Ela

This was one of those games were the Jaguars just didn't have it!!!. From the start to the finish, the Jaguars look sluggish and physically exhausted. Ela was beating the Jaguar girls to every 50/50 ball which eventually help them to create their first goal in the 1st half. In the 2nd half the Jags were behind 1-0, so I change our formation 15 mins into the second half to get some numbers forward on offense, but Ela sat 5 players back on defense. The Jaguars didn't play any better in the 2nd half and Ela again capitalized on a mistake to finish the game with a 2-0 win. Like I told the Waubonsie Valley girls team last night after their first season lose..." I'm not upset...today you just didn't have it, so lets pick our heads up and get the next one!"

4/18 Jaguars vs Swarm

The Jaguars opened up the NISL league against the Boys U11 Darien Swarm. From the kick-off to the end of the 1st half, the Jaguars controlled the game. Megan started off in goal with Veda, Lupe and Emma running the defense. Jenna, Hay-hay, Kenz & Mal in the midfield while Sarah & Maddy were up top. The girls moved the ball very well from sideline to sideline and quick little combinations in the final third to give the Jags a 3-0 lead at half-time.

With a comfortable lead at half, super goalie Meg was pulled, Hay-Hay stepped in the net and some of the Jaguars were exposed to different positions for the 2nd half. The Swarm came out hard from the start of the 2nd half and evened the score about 20 mins into the 2nd half. That would be the last goal or scoring opportunity the Swarm would see for the rest of the game. While the Swarm players were still celebrated their tying goal, Sarah and Jenna quickly answered back by taking the kick-off all the way to the goal to win back the Jaguars lead 4-3. The Jaguars continued their pressure on the Swarm's defense creating many scoring opportunities. The final score 7-3...Jaguars!

4/10-4/11 Jaguars vs St. Louis tour

The Jaguars had some fantastic moments while playing 3 games against one of Missouri's best soccer clubs. One of the most exciting games was against the U11 girls on Sat afternoon.

The Jaguars were exhausted after playing their first game in the morning against the U12 girls in 80 degree weather and it showed in the 1st half of their second game of the day. The Jaguars came out extremely sluggish and were down 3-0 at the end of the first half. During a very peaceful half-time discussion, I challenged the girls to win the game 4-3.

The Jaguars came out on fire and dominated the second half. With super defenders Emma, Lupe & Carrie backed-up by mega goalie Megan, the St. Louis team couldn't create any offensive opportunities. Midfielders Hay-Hay, Kenz, Veda & Renae put on a clinic of precise passing while forwards Sarah, Jenna & Maddy added breathtaking moves that created many scoring opportunities. About 10 mins into the second half, Hay-Hay put one in the back of the net and the shooting gallery open!!! It became obvious that something special was going to happen. The Jaguars came from behind to win the match 4-3. Goals were scored by Hay-hay, Jenna, Emma & Maddy.

I was super impressed that the Jaguars believed in their style of play and fought for their teammates to pull out a nice win. Keep Surprising us Jaguars!!!!! We love it.

However, Goalie Megan K was my MVP for the weekend. She knew the Jaguars needed her in goal and played 110 out of 120 mins in the net. Making save after save in the 80 degree weather. Meg is a huge asset to the team because she can play goal and the field. Thanks Meg:)

3/27 Jaguars vs Tri-City U12 girls

The Jaguars exploded for this game and beat the U12 girls 10-4. The girls put on a brilliant display of give-goes, moves and shooting. Mallory lead the pack with 4 goals with Jenna right behind her with a hat trick. Maddy notched 2 goals for the match and super defender Lupe got herself a goal. Ha-Ha leading the team with 2 assist.

Good job Girls!!!

Jaguars vs TC U13 Cosmos

The Jaguars came out firing this weekend defeating the Cosmos 6-2. Once again Meg Keefer was fantastic in goal making some brilliant diving saves. Emma Morgan, Lupe Anguiano and Sam Maul were tough as nails on defense while Jenna Lafferty and Hailey Furio controlled the midfield. Forward Sarah Griffith ran the Cosmos defense in circles and notched the first goal of the match. Griffith also scored a second goal in the 2nd half. Veda Tappin and Jenna Lafferty both pick-up a goal with playmaker Hailey Furio getting 2 assist. The other 2 goals were scored by guest player Carrie from the Hornets. Well done Jaguars!!!!

Jaguars vs TC U11 Eagles

Another tough weekend for Jaguars, but 2 brilliant plays will make the indoor season highlight film. The first, Megan Keefer's stretching her body to make an NHL kick save against an excellent placed shot. The second, Sarah Griffith scoring the only Jaguar goal by beating 2 defenders with a scissors move straight into a ballerina move, then placing the ball with the outside of her foot into the back of the net. BRILLIANT!!!!

3/6/10 JAGUARS vs STINGRAYS

Tough night for the Jaguars!  Despite Megan Keefer's Spiderman like saves, the Jaguars couldn't hold back the boys U12 Stingrays.  The girls lost the match 6-2.  However, the Jaguars still showed flashes of brilliance with moves and give-&-goes.   Jenna Lafferty finished a scoring opportunity by putting the ball in the back of the net in the 1st half and Veda Tappin placed a free kick in the goal like a Brazilian master in the 2nd half.
